I've been doing it for 13 years, so I know it is a legitimate business opportunity that anyone can learn if they want to.Medical transcription is simply the process of transcribing doctors' recorded dictation into medical charts. You may have noticed when you visit the doctor's office that your physician may, at the end of your visit, dictate a summary of your visit into a small hand-held recorder. These are the notes that will later be transcribed.Now, what does it take to become a transcriptionist? You need to be able to type accurately (or be able to learn to do this), and you need to have some knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy and physiology. You can either take a course at a local college or take an online course to learn these things. You can also learn on your own but I would advise you to at least get something online to follow and some practice tapes to learn from.
